Flat irons do more than just straighten hair, and the options are so varied it can get confusing when you’re trying to figure out what kind to buy. I don’t have expertise on a whole lot in this life, but one thing I’m incredibly well-versed in is flat irons. I preach their value to friends and family all the time, and when I started researching for my next purchase I decided to share what I found with people who are having trouble knowing what to look for.
I’m not a hairstylist, but I grew up with super frizzy, really curly and totally unmanageable hair. My mom and I tried everything when I was a kid to get my hair under control, and nothing seemed to work. When I was a teenager, I learned about these new-fangled devices called flat irons that would help get my hair straight. They weren’t nearly as good then as they are now, but it was still a huge step in the right direction. Since then, I haven’t looked back and always have a trusty iron on hand.
Now that I’ve embarked on a new search, I’ve compiled everything I’ve learned here so you can benefit from my endless battles with a difficult to understand mane. I know more about my hair now and what it needs from this type of “hair gadget” so it’s much easier to style. I’m hoping other ladies who are in the same boat get the same results I got after a fair amount of trial and error.
So have a seat, search around and let’s get this all STRAIGHT.
